AGC Maine Education Foundation

About This Scholarship:
The AGC Maine Education Foundation is pleased to invest in the future of the construction industry by awarding scholarships to deserving students studying engineering and/or construction management. Since 1993, the Foundation has awarded scholarships totaling more than $400,000 to technical schools, college undergraduate students and graduate students towards the end. Eight to twelve students are selected for a total amount of $30,000-$35,000 annually with individual awards ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.

BTL Athletes Scholarship

About This Scholarship:
BTL Industries is all about strengthening and empowering individuals based on the values of teamwork, trust, and building others up. Student-athletes face unique challenges as they pursue their education, balancing the responsibilities of homework and studying with practices, training, and games for their sport. High tuition is just one more source of stress that many student-athletes have to deal with. BTL has collaborated with professional basketball player Andre Drummond to ease the burden of tuition for five student-athletes who are graduating high school or attending college.Any low-income high school junior or senior who’s a varsity athlete or any current undergraduate students who are athletes on a college team may apply for this scholarship. Students who only play intramural or club sports are not eligible. About This Scholarship:
This scholarship is available for Maine undergraduate and graduate students who have a parent or grandparent who is/was a veteran. Application requirements for the Daniel E. Lambert Memorial Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Applicants must meet the following criteria to receive an award: show evidence of being enrolled in or attending an accredited college or vocational/technical school; be of good character (demonstrated through letters of recommendation); have demonstrated by his/her past behavior that he/she believes in the American way of life (demonstrated through letters or recommendation); and exhibit financial need (statement showing family income/expenses or IRS Form 1040 showing family adjusted gross income and/or extenuating circumstances such as multiple siblings in college). Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Scholarship
The scholarship application portal is now closed. The portal will reopen for the coming year, 2023, on November 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm (Eastern Standard Time).
About This Scholarship:
Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study including history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English.
DAR’s scholarships are awarded and judged without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin, or disability.
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
- Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States.
- All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance.
- Awards are based on academic excellence, commitment to the field of study, and/or financial need, or other restrictions on specific scholarships.
- Awards are placed on deposit with the recipient’s college or university and any unused portion shall be returned to the DAR.

About this Scholarship:
The FFE Men's College Scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.
Foxcroft Academy Global Citizen Scholarship

About this Scholarship:
The Global Citizen Scholarship was established in 2021 and aims at supporting outstanding Foxcroft Academy graduates in their educational and academic pursuits, including college and other post-secondary educational programs.
The mission of the scholarship is to support FA graduates in becoming global citizens, aware of their place in the world and the challenges humanity faces, and able to affect positive change in their work at any level, starting locally.
To be considered for the scholarship, a graduating senior must submit a short free-form statement on the following topic: “The world faces many serious challenges today, and it can be daunting to think about - what's one way you can personally make the world better?”
The scholarship is awarded to one graduating senior in the amount of $500 to be used for covering the cost of an educational program or related expenses. There is no minimum GPA to be considered, and the scholarship is open to all graduating seniors, including international students.

The Ruffed Grouse Society of Maine is pleased to offer the $4,000 George V. Soule Sholarship to a deserving student who will be starting their education in one of the following areas of study: Wildlife Conservation, Conservation Law Enforcement, Forest Management or a closely related field that is supportive of the broad goals of the Ruffed Grouse Society at both the regional and national level. It is imperative that applications be focused on the aforementioned areas of study. If an applicant’s career goals do not reflect Ruffed Grouse Society goals the application will not be considered. GFWC Maine & Maine Council for Elder Abuse Prevention Scholarship

About This Scholarship:
The GFWC (General Federation of Women’s Clubs) Maine and the Maine Council for Elder Abuse Prevention (MCEAP) are working together to raise awareness about elder abuse in Maine, and as such they are pleased to announce a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a Maine student who has successfully completed requirements for graduation from a Maine high school and who will be attending college or a certification program as a full-time student during the 2022-2023 academic year. Criteria for selection include: an essay with content about elder abuse and your academic average.
The completed application should contain:
1. A 500 word, double-spaced essay in response to the question: “What is elder abuse and why does it matter to you?”
2. A copy of your high school transcripts
3. A letter of acceptance from a college or university as soon as possible but due no later than May 1.

Margaret Chase Smith Essay Contest

About This Scholarship:
Every school year the Margaret Chase Smith Library administers the Margaret Chase Smith Essay Contest. It is open to Maine high school seniors and invites them to write on a theme related either to a historical milestone or a current event. Thanks to the generous support from the Margaret Chase Smith Foundation, prizes are $1000 for first place, $500 for second place, $250 for third place, and five $50 honorable mention prizes.
About The Contest Rules:
- It is open to Maine high school seniors.
- Essays must be typed and double-spaced.
- Electronic submissions are preferred.
- Hard copy ones should be sent unstapled.
- Contestants need to provide contact information (email or mailing address) in order to receive notification of final results.
- For publication purposes, essays should be no longer than 2000 words

Maine Legislative Memorial Scholarship Fund
Eligibility: The Maine Legislature annually recognizes one student from each county who is currently pursuing or planning to pursue education at a two- or four-year degree-granting Maine college or technical school. Awards are given to Maine resident high school seniors or full- or part-time postsecondary students accepted to or enrolled in accredited Maine colleges for graduate or undergraduate degrees.
Maine Society of Professional Engineers
The Maine Society of Professional Engineers will be awarding two $3,000 Scholarships for Graduating High School seniors this coming year. Applications will be accepted if postmarked by March 17, 2023 for the Vernon T. Swain, P. E. / Robert E. Chute, P. E. Scholarship. Electronic applications will not be accepted.

Maine Sports Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Scholarship Award
The Maine Sports Hall of Fame is accepting applications for five $5000 scholarships which will be awarded to Maine high school seniors in June. The scholarships are based on athletic performance, academic excellence and community service. Students can apply by going to the Maine Sports Hall of Fame website and filling out the form. Applications are due by April 4, 2023. Winners will be announced on June 1, 2023.

The Maine Town, City and County Management Association is pleased to present the student achievement scholarship, the Dr. Edward F. Dow Award, for future leaders in the field of Public Administration.
Dr. Edward F. Dow was a professor of government and head of the department of history and government at the University of Maine. He was an author, innovator, mentor and leader to Maine Public Administrators for decades. The Dr. Edward F. Dow Award is presented by the MTCMA to honor and recognize Dr. Dow’s lifelong accomplishments and exceptional career and dedication to the Public Administration profession. This award is presented annually to a person planning to study or currently studying Public Administration. This person should be ready to make or already making a significant contribution to the profession and must clearly demonstrate noteworthy leadership skills during the course of his/her studies/career and show early participation in Public Administration work.
We encourage you to nominate any graduate student, undergraduate student or high school senior that you feel meets the criteria and is deserving of this award. The award will be in the form of a plaque and scholarship (up to $1,500) to use toward education expenses.

Mitchell Insitute Scholarsip
New for the 2023 Mitchell Scholarship application season!
The Mitchell Institute is pleased to announce an expanded commitment to increasing college access for Maine students. In addition to our longstanding commitment of awarding at least one $10,000 scholarship annually to a graduating student from each of the 135 public high schools in Maine, we will award 20 more scholarships across the state, bringing our annual total to $1.55M in support for the class of 2023 Mitchell Scholars.

The selection committee considers all available information to choose the student for whom our support would make the biggest impact. We aim to have a minimum of five applicants from each school.

Ruffed Grouse Society
Hello-
I am a member of the Maine chapter (the Russ and Carole Dyer Chapter) of the Ruffed Grouse Society. RGS is a conservation organization dedicated to creating and maintaining wildlife habitat on a landscape scale and forest health. Our members are mostly grouse hunters who support national scientific conservation and management efforts to ensure the future of the species.
Each year our chapter awards a $4000 scholarship to a Maine high school senior who is going to pursue a degree in wildlife conservation, conservation law enforcement, forest management or a closely related field that is supportive of the broad goals of the Ruffed Grouse Society at both the regional and national level.

About This Scholarship:
Established in 1947, the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Each year, nearly 64,500 high school students from across the country enter to win their share of more than $2 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the program.
The national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000.

U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation
The Scholarship program for 2021-2022 is now closed. The 2022-2023 program will begin in August 2022.
Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.
WTS Maine Scholarship 2022
About This Scholarship:
WTS fosters the development of women and girls in the transportation field by encouraging bright new professionals and students to undertake technical careers in the area of transportation. One way this is accomplished is by awarding the WTS Maine High School Scholarship to young women pursuing undergraduate studies in science, technology, engineering, or math and considering a career in transportation. This year WTS – Maine Chapter is offering up to three High School Scholarships in the amounts of $1,000 to $2,000. One award will be reserved for a minority applicant. Recipients will also receive a complimentary WTS membership.
